The moment retired equipment leaves your dock, the question becomes custody. In a certified process, assets travel in sealed, tracked containers with signed transfer manifests — every handoff documented, every seal numbered.

At intake, each asset is scanned, photographed, and serialized into inventory, then reconciled against the outbound manifest so nothing disappears between your dock and the processing floor. Data-bearing media is sanitized to NIST 800-88 or physically destroyed, with verification at the device level.

What comes back to you is the point of the whole exercise: serialized certificates of destruction, settlement reporting on remarketed assets, recycling documentation, and a chain-of-custody record that survives any audit. The truck leaving is the beginning of the evidence, not the end of your visibility.
